In Dahl University call names top students

 On Thursday, November 22, at 15:30 in the auditorium of the first building East-Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl to celebrate the Day of the student will sum up a University annual contest "Student of the Year 2012."

In the festive finale will be attended by 17 talented and strongest students from different faculties and institutes Dahl University have demonstrated an active educational, scientific, social, cultural or sports activities. They will compete for victory in seven categories: "Quality Education", "young researchers", "public figure", "Mainstreaming", "Versatility", "colorful personality" and "Sports University of pride."

The participants and guests expect a festive show featuring team Dahl University of funk-aerobics and creative students of national groups, "Torch," "Dawn of Ukraine", "libertines", "Pulse". The program of the evening presentations foreign students who will present songs and dances of their countries.

 In celebration of the International Day for students at the Faculty of Philology East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl held contests and treated everyone to free sweets.

For the title of the winner, the students had to show himself clever, funny and brave. Organizers - Student Council of the Faculty DREAMS them. Dal - dalivtsiv prepared for some interesting contests. Students competed in Dancing with bottles caught between his knees, drew blindfolded horse, couples danced in the newspapers, and members-boys impressed the audience originality compliments that they dedicate themselves looking in the mirror. The winner of each competition received a prize and loud applause.

Recall that the International Students' Day is celebrated annually on November 17. First celebration of this occasion held in 1941 in London, members of the International Council of Students after Czechoslovak students heroes of the resistance movement that fought against the Nazi occupiers during World War II. In Ukraine, November 17 officially recognized student Day since 1999.

 In the assembly hall of the East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl presentation freshmen "What do students' faculty of mathematics and computer science. The event was part of activities that are traditionally held on the eve of the university student.

The concert was organized by first-year students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Support Student Council of the University. The evening program was presented 14 art rooms where young guests dalivtsi demonstrated their vocal, dance and musical talents. Each group of faculty prepared a separate stage number, thereby demonstrating not only their talents, but also the cohesion of the student group, the desire to participate in university life. Each room preceded small humorous dialogues about student life.

Concert with their jokes added two faculty KVN team "Zachotnyey Nyekuda" and "Slash". The guest speaker at the scene Dahl University became the first children's dance ensemble "Katyusha". According to spectators, the first experience on stage performance was very good for the students, which helped not only to reveal the creative potential of newly dalivtsiv but unite them and give impetus to further development in the walls Alma mater.

On the eve of Student Day in East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl held-university quest.For title of the strongest fighting 16 teams - 4 student from each faculty and institute. The organizer of this event was the student council DREAMS them. Dal supported by the university administration.

Participants had to pass 16 locations where they could show their ingenuity, logic and unusual thinking. The explanation of each location gave the key to the next. To fulfill one task was given five minutes. Under the rules of the game participants for correct answers could earn a maximum of 100 points. The team that finishes first gets an extra 10 points.

During the quest university students showed a high level of knowledge in the exact sciences and humanities. Most interesting for the participants was station "of Vladimir Ivanovich Dal", where it was necessary to recall dates and events in the life of the Cossack Lugansk. The winner of the quest of 105 points was the team of the Institute of Economics and Finance University of Dreams. Dal.It represented the first year students Nair Hasanov, Cyril cloud, Dmitry and Alexey Ignatov Sytnik.

The International Faculty of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University has celebrated the Final Grand Feast for foreign and Ukrainian students.“Let me on behalf of all the administration of the University congratulate you with the graduation from our university” – addressed vice-rector on scientific and educational work Prof. V.Dyadychev to the graduators. – You should bring the name of Dahl Student to the country where you’ll live and work with the proud. Don’t forget your teachers, who gave you knowledge, who you communicate with during all your stay here, and students. We wish you much health and happiness and success!”

The soloist of the Group for modern pop songs “Svitanok Ukrainy” Isabel Malanga has presented several Ukrainian songs, and graduator James Lee sang in English. The real "flavor" of the evening was songs in native languages performed by students and graduates. Rustem Radzhepov, Maya Amarkupova and soloist of the vocal ensemble "Echo" Inga Chohadze have shared their talents. Also, Darya Gvozdetsky has presented the song and Peter Odzhyo charmed the audience playing the saxophone.

The training of foreign students at Dahl University (at that time - Voroshilovgrad Engineering Institute) has been launched in 1973. The first students were 18 people from Poland. During the short time students’ geography has expanded considerably, and in 1985, the institute enrolled 380 students from 39 countries worldwide. In 1991 the Institute opened a preparatory department for foreign citizens, there the students were trained to entry the universities for engineering, medical and humanitarian areas. In 1998 the Preparatory Center for Ukrainian and foreign citizens was opened, which was later renamed to the International Centre for Undergraduate Education.

Nowadays International Faculty has been created in 2010. It contains 5 chairs. The training is going on in English, Russian and Ukrainian.

 


5 Dahl students will study abroad in the frame of the Ministry Program

Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Dmytro Tabachnik signed the order concerning the education and training for students, graduate students, researchers and teaching staff at the leading overseas universities.According to the order of the Minister the lists of students, researchers and teachers that were recommended by the Selection Committee for study and internships at leading universities abroad was approved.

In the list of students, recommended by the Tender Committee to study at leading universities abroad are students of the V.Dahl East Ukrainian National University: Natalia Barabashova, Andrey Grishin, Alexey Kondrashov, Alexander Makrushyn (University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada), Alexander Dyadychev (The Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg (Germany).

American Fulbright Scholar collaborates with Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University

Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University traditionally welcomes American Fulbrighters every year. As you know, the Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. It is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Grants are available for U.S. citizens to go abroad and for non-U.S. citizens with no U.S. permanent residence to come to the U.S. Jack Morton was brought as a visiting scholar to our university this year in order to collaborate on curriculum and conduct his research. He is now actively involved in academic life of the Chair of Theory and Practice of Translation from Germanic and Romance Languages. It surely helps our future translators to gain great experience in the professional area. Jack’s classes are always full-house – students are motivated not only by the chance of intercultural exchange but also by the “live” atmosphere our American fellow creates. It makes the learning process both efficient and interesting.

Foundation of a Modern Laboratory at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University

On October 17, 2012, the Chair of Industrial and Artistic Casting opened a unique for Lugansk region Ukrainian-German Scientific Research Laboratory for Foundry Processes at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. This laboratory was established thanks to support of ArcelorMittal which is one the world’s leading steel companies having an industrial presence in France, Spain, Belgium, Germany etc. The opening ceremony of the lab was performed by Oleksandr Golubenko, Rector of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Michael Hütter, Metallurgical Engineer, Sabrina Oltmann, Director of Human Resources Department. Lutz Krüger presented books relating to metallurgy from his personal library to the Chair of Industrial and Artistic Casting of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. The modern laboratory equipment for casting industry was demonstrated to the guests at the opening ceremony. Equipment highlights include the following: Delta AbrasiMet Cutting Machine, Phoenix 4000 Grinding and Polishing Machine, Olympus BX51M Electron Microscope and OmniMet Software for image processing. The lab equipment makes possible to trim and polish raw cast samples which are then placed under the microscope to scan material structure. The information will be processed by the special software in the computer. The German representatives also interviewed some of the 4th-5th year students majoring in Engineering who applied for practice at ArcelorMittal Bremen (April 1, 2013 – September 30, 2013). According to the interview results Michael Hütter and Sabrina Oltmann selected two students: Oleksandr Tarasov majoring in Industrial and Artistic Casting and Anna Bondarenko majoring in Metrology.


Dahl Stdents taught American students corporate responsibility

Teachers of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, the Faculty of Management, within the Ukrainian-American project "Strengthening the capacity of non-governmental organizations through the interaction between the public and the corporate social responsibility" participated at school seminar on corporate social responsibility for the students of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (USA) and Dahl students. "On behalf of the Rector of the Dahl University Professor Alexander Golubenko I am pleased to welcome you at our high school - welcomed the Summer School Vice- Rector on educational work Doctor of Engineering, Professor Pavel Nosko. - We understand the importance of such events and we hope that in the future our scientific meetings and co-operation will be as useful and productive as it is today."

Traditionally during October in the auditorium East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl creative presentations were freshmen. The first were dalivtsi of the Faculty and the Faculty of Management. In total viewers watched 16 full concerts freshmen each faculty and institute DREAMS them. Dal.

At the presentations, students demonstrated their creativity by preparing an interesting program. Freshman Faculty of Management within the concert "Show new stars" gave the audience dance and vocal numbers, as well as several small theater productions. Burnie applause scene aroused «Championship against laziness," which dalivtsi clearly in a joking manner demonstrated how lazy can be advanced students. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the finalists of the International Circus Festival, winning television show "Continent talents" Anastasia pads and Katerina Kolesnikova. Future linguists in concert "FF online» also pleased the audience in the hall bright dances and songs. In addition, freshmen Department of the Ukrainian language and literature viewers read several poems in Ukrainian.
